The Temple of Po'gaenus refers to two buildings.
The Old Temple[]
The Imperial Palace was once the seat of the Emperors and High Inquisitors of the Gorak'nar Commonwealth. It became a temple by command of High Inquisitor Velenkayn II in 2063, following the death and deification of Po'gaenus the Exalted. But the old building was falling rapidly into ruin by the 24th century. Shortly after he assumed power, High Inquisitor Jaeden'laek XVI ordered the construction of both a new palace for the High Inquisitorate, and a new Temple of Po'gaenus - a mobile one.
The old Temple is based on the Mannoroc Coven in Desolace, located in southern Kalimdor in World of Warcraft.
The New Temple[]
In 2351, Jaeden'laek XVI commanded the construction of a mobile Temple of Po'gaenus, a floating fortress that could travel to the worlds of the Commonwealth, rather than the people of those worlds having to travel to Gorak'nar. Equipped with powerful fold drives (technology left behind on Reydovan worlds and discovered by Kiran Joshmaul's archaeologists), the Temple had four satellite "chapels" in addition to the main cathedral. Special floating docks were built on all of the Commonwealth's twenty-two worlds to link up with the massive main structure whenever it came to visit. It was also subtly armed and defended by particle-beam turrets and powerful defensive shields in case any one attempted to attack the Temple. It was completed in 2375 and is currently anchored in high orbit around Gorak'nar.
The new Temple is based on Tempest Keep, located in Outland's Netherstorm in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade.
